Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
I adore Rachel Aaron’s Legend of Eli Monpress series, as well as her Hearstriker books. I also really enjoyed the space opera novels she wrote under Rachel Bach. I’d love to meet her!
Sadie will definitely be on my favorite books of 2018 list, and All the Rage was on my favorites of 2017 list. She writes such heart-breaking and emotional stories, and I’m in awe of her. I follow her on Twitter as well, and she seems like the nicest person.
No surprises here, really. I adore Leigh Bardugo’s novels. She is one of my favorite YA fantasy writers. I’m sure she’ll be on most people’s lists, unless everyone has already had the opportunity to meet her.
Meeting Scott Lynch and getting my books signed would be a dream come true. I love his Gentleman Bastard series, and it’s on my favorite series of all-time list. He’s absolutely brilliant, and crafts such intricate plots.
Listen, I need to meet Madeline Miller at some point. The Song of Achilles has made me cry every single time I’ve read it, and Circe is a recent addition to my favorite list. I want to gush about Achilles and Patroclus to her for ages, and I want to hear her thoughts on all the Ancient Greek stories and myths.
I feel a bit weird saying this because Every Falling Star is an autobiography, but still. I would love to meet Sungju Lee, or be able to go to a lecture of his. I want to learn more about North Korea and how we can help with reunification and the refugees currently stuck in horrible situations.
Who is surprised? NO ONE. I love all of her books. I adored Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda, then The Upside of Unrequited became a new favorite, and lastly, Leah on the Offbeat managed to blow me away in one sitting. I would love to meet Becky and get my copies signed!
Obviously. I’ve read 5 of his books so far, and have fallen in love with each and every one of them. I need to meet the master of creating intricate yet easy to understand fantasy worlds.
Michael J. Sullivan
Another one of my favorite fantasy authors! Talking to Michael J. Sullivan about Royce and Hadrian would be incredible. I’d love to hear whether he has any more of their adventures planned.
The Bone Witch is an incredible Asian-inspired fantasy series. I know that many people said it was slow, but I adored it. It’s split in two timelines: one in which Tea discovers that she is an asha and goes to train, and one in which she has been exiled and is raising an army of dead monsters. This series is so good and it’s SO UNDERRATED!
That’s my list of 10 authors I’d really like to meet! I left off some authors I was luck enough to meet already, like V.E. Schwab, Laini Taylor, Tomi Adeyemi, Holly Bourne, Becky Chambers, etc. Have you read any of these authors’ books? Have you met them? Which authors would you like to meet?
