Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today, I’m taking you on a little trip around the world through 10 bookshops I really want to visit.
I have always wanted to visit Santorini. The typical pictures made there make it seem like such a beautiful and peaceful place. Atlantis Books would be a bookstore on my to-visit list if I ever do go to Santorini. It seems so adorable and cute, and you can even watch the sunset from the bookstore.
Beijing is another city on my list of places I want to visit soon. The Bookworm seems like such a cozy bookstore, especially because there’s also a restaurant and more attached to it. Seems like the perfect place to kill an afternoon and evening! They also have one in Chengdu and one in Suzhou.
This needs no further explanation. I still haven’t visited L.A. and when I do, this bookstore will be one of the first places I go.
Veronica Effect is an independent bookstore in Seoul that specializes in graphic novels and illustrated books. It looks absolutely fantastic, and I’m hoping to visit it on my travels (maybe I already have by the time this post goes up!).
This seems like such a cozy place! Apparently, it is situated on the second floor in an apartment building and is actually an apartment filled from floor to ceiling with books. I mean, that sounds absolutely fantastic.
Another one that seems so cozy, and in a continent I have never set foot in. I’ve never been to South-America, which is something that needs to be remedied immediately.
The name of this bookstore alone makes me want to visit it. Their Facebook page states that their mission is to promote inter-cultural exchange, literacy, indigenous languages and sustainable travel. That sounds like a mission I want to support.
You all know that Australia and New Zealand are on my must-visit list. The flight is so daunting (and expensive) though, and that’s the only thing that has kept me from traveling there already. This bookstore + café seems absolutely wonderful though!
I’m running out of things to say because the sentiment for all these picks is the same. I’ve never visited South Africa, but I definitely want to. Love Books seems like a very comfortable and beautiful space to spend hours perusing books.
The Hub, Lagos, Nigeria
I couldn’t find a website for this one, but I saw it on a list of great bookstores in Lagos. Once again, I’ve never visited Nigeria but it’s definitely on the list. There are just so many places I need to visit, guys. When will I ever get to see them all?
Have you been to any of these bookstores? If you have, let me know what you thought of them! I could only include 10 on this list, but I’m definitely creating an entire list. Let me know which bookstores around the world I should visit according to you, and I’ll add them to my personal list!
